The connecting corridor in the Qingdao Golden Land Bay project is built with 800*300 large rectangular tubes produced by Spare using pultruded and formed profiles. The span of the corridor is 17m and it has a height of 2.8m. The upper and lower beams weigh a total of 1.2 tons, which is 80% lighter than a steel structure of the same size (6 tons). Each profile weighs 33 kg per meter and requires over 1,700 yarns for production. The production process is technically difficult, and Spare had to create a mold for pultrusion molding in one go. Despite its size, the material is lightweight, making installation and construction easy and fast. The corridor was lifted into place using only a wheel and axle, saving time and effort on site.
